- Decopauge.
- You should check out hgtv.com Then go to the design on a dime page. They do some really great stuff on a budget.
- Just use color and flat paint. Don't be afraid of painting walls colors. Make you living room a nice red, your bathroom navy blue, you bedroom a muddy brown... olive green in the halls. Whatever colors you like as long as they flow. Color adds so much depth and warm.
- Use old greeting cards, glazed paper. You can also use throwaway stuff like old pillows to make wall decorations like dolls or puppets
- An idea a friend had for an old chart map I had, was to use Lathes as a frame. She nailed them together and used them as the border. It's just old wood lathes and a poster, but it looks old and "antique" like on my wall. If your into the Americana or old time look, it would work for you.
- Try one really bold color on one wall. Choose the color from a piece of art (poster, print, magazine collage, etc. whatever) that you love. Intense/strong colors can stand on their own. Then hang that piece of art on the wall. It will look great! Oh, and have fun with it!
- IF YOU HAVE TIME TO GO THRIFT STORES THAT IS THE CHEAP WAY TO DO IT...MY HOME IS DONE IN EARLY AMERICAN THRIFT STORE AND IT LOOKS GREAT.AND YOU CAN SPRAY PAINT ANY THING,LIKE BASKETS AND BOXES,THE LIST COULD GO ON.YOU CAN TAKE FRAMES AND PAINT THEM AND PUT BRIGHT COLORED PAPER OR FABRICS IN THEM,THEY LOOK GREAT.
- buy puzzles and puzzle glue. This will give you something to do with something to look forward to when youre done:) Make great wall decorations.
