Where can I get modern art and paintings?

I'm intending on redoing my room and I plan on putting up lots of art and modern-esque paintings. I'm on a tight budget so I would want the painting to only be about $10-35, but I have no idea where to even begin and start looking for paintings! Does anyone know what type of places I can find cheap paintings to buy? P.S.-I live in Colorado, so if anyone happens to be from there and knows of good places, I would appreciate it very much! Thank you!

try your local colleges. most of them just got out for the summer though so you might have missed them, but my school just had their annual student art show and a lot of it had a modern feel to it. students will usually sell the work they put in shows like that so if you live near a school with an art department, look into that. if they've already had their show, you might contact the art department and ask if any of the students wanted to sell their work. there's a good chance the department head knows how to contact the art students.
With such a tight budget, you may want to consider spending your saturdays checking out garage sales. You can find some great/cheap treasures.
