  1. The following are some tips to consider for average artwork. If these were of great value it would not be advisable to compromise in any way. 1. Have you ever ordered prestretched canvas in bulk? The canvas is shipped in boxes grouped together by size, basically stacked back to front. 2. Store them unframed. 3. Stacking them vertically is better than horizontally. 4. If the surface texture is at risk there are double-sided tacks sold in art stores that are meant for transporting wet canvases so they do not touch one another. These will work to create space between each canvas so there isn't any abrasive movement. 5. Store them where they will not be exposed to extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity. An environmentally controlled storage facility is recommended in areas of extreme weather fluctuation. Due to concern for expenses, keep this in mind when choosing a space around the home. A closet is better than the garage or attic, for instance.
  2. I go along with what MT says. You could also consider buying a dehumidifier to use in the storage area. Regards Lawrence.
