Cheap Paintings

Is there a cheap place i can put my paintings so I can sell them?

I am a watourcolour artist and I can't afford to pay the $500 for a membership in the art world to post my paintings. Is there a place i can put my paintings so I can sell them? Any Help would be appreciated.

  1. why not try ebay
  2. try local restaurants and cafes.
  3. deviant art
  4. put them on ebay and I will have a look
  5. Try you local hospital. Where I work they put them on the wall to break up the corridors. All with a not giving a price and your contact details.
  6. EBay Your local strip malls usually will have art displays by individuals during summer and fall shows.
  7. If there is a fee for membership in the art world, I never got the bill. Seriously, who wanted to charge you $500 to put your paintings online? And what would you have gotten for your money? There are many sites to show your paintings online, including deviantart.com; but I have no idea how effective these sites are at actually selling artwork. I'm old-fashioned, and I believe most people want to see the artwork in person before they will spend money on it. So to my mind, galleries, art shows, and art fairs are the way to go. You will pay a commission to a gallery, but they will work to sell your paintings, and they know how to get customers in who can afford them.
  8. Look out for cultural fairs and any event in your area where businesses will be showing their stuff. Also, maybe you can have your own website, and sell it through that. Or put up flyers and invite people to come look at your art at home maybe. ebay is a good option too I guess. Or try garage sales...see if they would let you display your paintings. Try different avenues, and something will work out. All the very best and don't fear anything. Just venture out and talk to people, ask questions...and you will know what is the best way to go.
  9. Try a local cafe on a sale or return basis.
  10. eBay is all very well, but it's not as successful for the actual artist. Over the past 2yrs, there has been an unfortunate downward spiral in the market on the site; art has been going for as little as £4.99 for an original oil painting ... and then you'd be lucky if you even got one bid for all your hard work! A better option for you is to check this out: http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/saleroom/ ... OK, I've given you the UK site but I'm certain it's fairly global. It costs you nothing to list on here and, you never know, your first sales could be rolling in by this time tomorrow! Good luck!
