Cheap Paintings

Children's room decor....?

I am looking to hang some wall border in my children's rooms. I am looking for really cheap wall border. I am on a tight decorating budget and I think this will be the best way to liven up their rooms. The cheapest roll I have found so far is for my son's room @ $6.00 on clearance at Wal-Mart. It fits his favorite theme too, airplanes. So I am going to go with that. Where can I find really really cheap wall borders at? Any other ideas for cheap room decor?

  1. Instead of wall paper...look into doing a very creative stencil design in place of the paper borders (so common). It will take time but it's so worth it. I did it for my friends daughters bedroom. We did angels and flowers. You can look for the airplane stencil templates at like Lowes or Home Depot...even try a craft store...or search on line. I just personally hate the paper borders...
  2. You could also get little cheap airplanes at the dollar store or whereever and hang then from the ceiling at different lenghts
  3. How about a personalized sign for the child's room that accents the décor? They have nice ones here: http://www.mysweetandsour.com/ The artist is a mom.
  4. if i were you, i wouldnt get a border. i am 16 years old, and have had borders previously and they are just a pain! Children grow out of them quickly and they are difficult to take off once theyre on. If i were you, try two different colors and like said above, use a stencil and paint in a design
