What is the best way to win an online art auction?

I am thinking of bidding on art in an online auction for a gallery near me. What are the most important things I need to know about the process? What is the best way to win? I apprecaite any advice you can offer. Thanks!! Please don't give me nonsense answers like "Bid the highest". I would like answers from people who are familiar with auctions, and not people who are just rumaging though Yahoo answers and giving foolish ansers. I meant, answers. I type too fast when I am frustrated with YA.

5. For any online auction it is best to try and count the time down to the second, be there and cast your bid. I have won many auctions by doing this. It keeps from raising the price and you know the amount you are going to pay immediately. However, some sites have this automatic bid, where the progrm bids for you until it has hit the max price you set for it. For those who use those do not set an outrageous price because people like me will raise until the max, there are ways to find out your max.
6. I like last minute snipe bidding.. it gives me a rush of adrenaline which I likely do not need but .. I do enjoy.
